January 2013 – Fundraising Results & Application Pocess

The Board of Brownsville Community Foundation met on January 3 and discussed the fundraising results from 2012. The total amount raised was $4531, just short of the goal of $5000.

The 2013 BCF grant application process was determined by the Board to begin on February 1, when applications will be available at The Times office. There will be two months for applications to be completed and returned, with the cut-off date of March 31, 2013. The Board will meet in early April to review all applications and make decisions concerning which applications will be accepted for fund. Around $2200 will be available this year for grant awards.

The BCF will be sponsoring a drawing for tickets to Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival at Key Bank over the next few months. The proceeds will be used for grants for next year, 2014. The goal is to raise $7000 in 2013 from all donations sources.

The Board of BCF, a non-profit organization, consists of President Don Ware, Vice President Anne Stein, Secretary Jan Schilling, and Treasurer Jennifer Meltzer., and members Bob Anderson, Mark Running, Lori Garcy, and Mary Parker.
