After struggling with an old gas heater the Halsey Library finally has better heating and cooling. The Central Linn Community Foundation donated $400 towards the cost of replacing the old heater.
“The City of Halsey is grateful for the help of both foundations. The old gas heater had been in the library for over 25 years before it failed. The new heat pump cost $6353.69 including installation. The remaining funds were provided by the city,” said a release from the City of Halsey.
“We’re excited to have better heating in the winter and much better cooling in the summer for our patrons. The library is a natural gathering place, and we want it to be comfortable for everyone. The new heat pump will also be more energy efficient and reduce operating costs,” said Halsey Mayor Jerry Lachenbruch.
