Also present were Lori Garcy, Donna Black and Vance Parrish.
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 by Kathy.
Donna Black, representing Georgia Pacific, present the Board with a check for $500.
Lori mentioned that the City of Brownsville had grant applications for non-profits if they could show they took in less money than previous years due to COVID. It was doubted that we would qualify, but Don will check with Scott McDowell and contact Wendy if we do.
The minutes were approved as presented.
Kathy gave the treasurer’s report in Wendy’s absence. We have a balance of $5,803.14. All grant checks have been cashed. The report was accepted.
Our next meeting will be Sept. 9th in the Kirk Room of the Library.
Lori then took over the meeting and the following was discussed..
Motion was made by Kathy and seconded by Lance regarding whether or not we should have a fundraiser in 2022. Motion passed.
Getting recognition for CLCF was discussed. Tagging on to city-wide events was brought up. The following events were mentioned as something to keep in mind for the future.
– City-wide garage sale on July 17th. We could each bring things and the proceeds would go to CLCF.
– July 23rd – Stand By Me Day.
– August 1st – Antique Fair.
Where could we speak to get more recognition and who will make contact.
– American Legion – Lance.
– Senior Center – Don
– Pollyanna’s – Chenoweth.
– CFA – Chenoweth
– Garden Club – Chenoweth
Where could we put brochures.

The website was discussed. Vance brought up that it needs to be more people focused. He is working on this. A video with grantees should be possible now that COVID restrictions have been lifted.
We need to work on templates for letters covering various occasions and situations.
We need a dedicated person to handle Facebook. We could do this in the future.
PayPal was discussed. Vance will need to investigate improvements to our current system. He’ll check out information on Square vs PayPal. He will also check on AmazonSmile.
Major Event was discussed. The purpose of the event would be to raise money. Our target audience would be the general public. What kind of events would draw people that would benefit us.
