Rella Johnson

My husband and I moved to Halsey (17 miles south of Albany) in 2004. I have three daughters, nine grandchildren, one foster granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren. My husband of 45 years passed away in 2012.

For 20 years I have volunteered for the American Red Cross blood drive. I have been a Halsey City Councilor since 2013. I am a member of the Central Linn Lions Club. I am the coordinator of the Halsey free Thanksgiving Dinner for the last 4 years. I helped in the construction of the new Halsey City Hall and renovation of the Halsey Public Library. I also host the Wednesday doughnut and coffee klatch. I enjoy sewing, gardening and garage sales.

I am a member of the Blue Heron Advisory Committee, Library Advisory Committee, and Ford Foundation Leadership Tree Planting. I set up the City Hall seasonal decorations, community coffee set-up and clean-up on Wednesday mornings. I stay busy and active helping others.

I love living here. The people, community and climate are all wonderful. I joined the Central Linn Community Foundation because I believe in what the foundation does.
